How has the recession impacted the fashion industry? Just ask me! I won't give you the fluffy fake answer you are so used to hearing. It's bad, bad enough that I shut down my doors for a little while, canceled my orders with my vendors and decided to go back to school. I have one more year until I get my Master's degree in psychology, but something was calling me back.
In 2006 when I first started LA Duchess, the fashion industry was booming and women were shopping like mad. I was young and green and I was making what seemed like a fortune (to me at least) with my little start-up business. Who needed a nest egg? I thought the money well would never dry up, but as the saying goes, you live and you learn.
I am going to give this fashion thing another shot and this time I am going to do things differently. I have learned so much in the last few years and I know that even when times are amazing, you have to save up for that rainy day.
Women are tightening their belts and watching how much they spend. Due to this trend, I feel that it is appropriate and necessary to change with the times. I am going to carry extremely fashionable, well made, and trendy items but at a cost that won't leave you with buyers remorse.
*Eminem has no relevance to me, my site or this post, but it's really cheesy and the message is clear....IM BACK!
